Meet Christi Pribula
Wife, Mother, Advocate, Lawyer
& Your Candidate
“The ones who are bold enough to think they can change the world, are the ones that ultimately do.”
The daughter of a public-school teacher and a Sheriff’s Lieutenant (both now retired), Christi was raised in Colorado Springs, CO with her three siblings surrounded by her paternal extended family. She was educated in public schools K-12, before attending the University of North Dakota for her undergraduate education, graduating in 3.5 years at the age of 20 summa cum laude with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Sociology.
Christi was subsequently admitted into the academic honor society, Phi Beta Kappa.
While at the University of North Dakota, Christi met her future husband, Joe Pribula, a native of Thief River Falls, MN, three days after turning 18 years old. They dated throughout college and graduated together in December of 2003. Joe and Christi had family parallels that drew them closer while dating, including both having been raised by public school teachers, having 3 siblings each, and both with an
uncle that served as a priest in the Catholic Church.
Shortly after their marriage in July 2004, Christi enrolled at the University of Kansas-School of Law in Lawrence, KS. They purchased their first home 6 months later in downtown Overland Park, KS where they lived for the next 6 years, before later moving to Stilwell, Kansas in 2010. Christi graduated from KU Law School in May 2007 and was subsequently admitted to practice law in both Kansas and Missouri.
She went to work at a small estate planning firm before being recruited by Commerce Trust Company. Christi started at Commerce Trust Company in late 2008 and served in various roles at the organization, including Trust Legal Counsel, before leaving after 11 and a half years to re-enter private practice. Her years at Commerce were formative in many ways and she continues to be grateful for the time spent there as she developed her professional career.
Christi is a small business owner, operating Generations Law Firm, LLC, which provides estate planning services to families in the Kansas City area. Joe and Christi, along with Joe’s brother, Mitch and his wife, Katie, also own and operate a second Kansas small business, Serenity at the Lake, LLC, where they renovate and rent out vacation homes on Kansas lakes.
Christi and Joe have been residents of District #27 for 12 years, and are the parents of four children,
Ryan (15), Noah (12), Evan (10) and Jace (4.5), and fostered three children over the course of 18 months in 2016 to 2017. As proudly raised public school children, their kids attended Blue Valley Schools starting with kindergarten and that continued to be the case until Covid. Two of their children attended Lawrence Virtual School for the 2020-2021 school year, and that gave rise to some observations of their children’s different educational needs. As a result, one of their sons was enrolled at St. Michael the
Archangel for 2021-2022 to better meet some of his educational and social needs.
Christi and Joe have dedicated countless hours to community service in the Kansas City area. Not only serving as foster parents to Kansas kids, but they also previously chaired the Spofford Gala in back-to- back years (now known as Cornerstones of Care). Joe coaches or assists in coaching their three older sons in competitive baseball with Advanced Baseball Academy, a Stilwell based academy, and has served
as a basketball coach with Blue Valley Recreation throughout their children’s sports careers.
Christi has dedicated numerous years to her children’s schools, serving as the Room Mom coordinating volunteers, and as the Book Fair chair for Stilwell Elementary before they moved to Wilderness Valley in 2018. Christi also enjoys volunteering as an Election Worker, though she has put that on hold while she campaigns.
